Finance Manager (Senior)

PAL-CON, Ltd. repairs, services, refurbishes, manufactures, removes, and installs gas turbine regenerators for various industries. Regenerators are built and installed for effective heat transfer to improve the efficiency of a gas turbine. The FINANCE MANAGER will be responsible for providing financial assistance with all matters that affect the financial fortitude of PAL-CON, Ltd.
The FINANCE MANAGER will be responsible primarily for preparing deposits, managing lines of credit, preparing and facilitating transfers, recording transactions on the general ledger, maintaining banking files, analyzing job costs, and reviewing general ledger entries to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting. He/she will be responsible for developing and implementing tax saving strategies; managing daily cash flow as deemed appropriate; reviewing and approving weekly payroll; and preparing and distributing payroll related reports including, but not limited to, quarterly and annual reports and returns. He/she will be responsible for reconciling general ledger accounts and making associated adjustments. The FINANCE MANAGER will be responsible for facilitating and appropriately recording intercompany and trust related transactions, maintaining established internal controls, and revising or creating and implementing controls as necessary. The FINANCE MANAGER, while ensuring the timely completion and submission of tax returns, will oversee the generating of 1099s and W2s as required annually. He/she will be responsible for preparing for and facilitating the fiscal year-end audit. He/she will also be responsible for supervising the accounting (payroll, accounts payable, account receivable) department's daily activities as well as the inventory department's relevant activities.
The FINANCE MANAGER will also be responsible for analyzing departmental functionality regarding efficiency, productivity, and cost savings; maintaining accounting files; approving purchase requisitions during an executive's absence; and providing training to subordinates as required. Researching matters as they arise and preparing atypical reports may also be required.
The FINANCE MANAGER must be knowledgeable in the field of corporate accounting. He/she must be well versed in generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and familiar with a broad range of financial reporting, record keeping, and tax related guidelines, regulations, and laws. It is imperative that the FINANCE MANAGER keep current on accounting-related regulations and laws pertaining to small businesses. He/she must possess above average communication and interpersonal skills as he/she will be required to develop and/or nurture relationships with vendors, clients, management, co-workers, subordinates, and all other resources. He/she must be organized, detail oriented, cooperative, flexible, reliable, self-motivated, and able to multi-task; he/she must be able to effectively prioritize responsibilities and tasks; and he/she must be able change focus in a moment's notice. He/she must be an effective delegator, scheduler, trainer, disciplinarian, and problem solver. The FINANCE MANAGER must maintain a high level of confidentiality. The FINANCE MANAGER must be proactive, resourceful, accountable, and maintain a professional demeanor. The FINANCE MANAGER must be committed to the success of PAL-CON, Ltd.
The FINANCE MANAGER must understand, read, write, and speak English; he/she will be required to follow verbal and written instructions. He/she may be required to sit, stand, or bend for lengthy periods of time and lift/carry supplies, equipment, or files weighing up to 30 pounds. He/she must be able to operate standard office equipment:
commercial printer/scanner/fax/copier, personal computer, calculator, multi-line phone system. He/she must have experience with invoicing, sales tax compliance, progressive billing, accounts receivable, and accounts payable. The FINANCE MANAGER must have intermediate to advanced Microsoft Office Professional Suite (emphasis on Excel and Word), email, and internet user skills; additionally, intermediate to advanced SAP user skills are a plus.
The FINANCE MANAGER is required to have earned a Bachelor's degree in accounting (or equivalent) with a minimum of five years' experience in a manufacturing or construction setting; CPA certification a plus. A valid state issued driver's license with current insurance coverage is required. Typical office hours are Monday through Friday from 8:
00 AM until 5:
00 PM; however, hours may vary. Limited travel and specialized training may be required. This position is subject to a 90-day introductory period. Salary will be based on experience and qualifications. The FINANCE MANAGER reports to the Vice President and President. He/she must follow the proper chain of command.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
